Wendy's Offers Up Italian Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich and Garlic Fries
Wendy's new Italian Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich and Garlic Fries are available for a limited time.

Mama mia, that's a lotta garlic and cheese! It seems that Wendy has gone to Europe for a semester to find herself and has returned with some new Italian inspired menu items. For a limited time, Wendy's is offering an Italian Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich and Garlic Fries.

Let's start by talking about this Italian Mozzarella Sandwich, because it's crazy. It's a chicken sandwich with asiago cheese and marinara sauce. I know, I know, that sounds boring. Afterall, Burger King has been doing an Italian Chicken Sandwich for years. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

This chicken sandwich with pasta sauce has a special ingredient that elevates this item in classic Italian style: a big forking piece of fried mozzarella cheese! It's basically a giant, burger patty-shaped mozzarella stick. Just the way the eat their chicken sandos in Rome! I assume. I've never been to Rome.

The Wendy's Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich is also served in a garlic knot bun. To our knowledge, that makes it the first knot bun in fast food history. Sounds greasy, delicious and garlicy. And speaking of garlic....

Alongside the Italian Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich, Wendy's is also offering garlic fries. Made with Wendy's normal natural-cut, sea salted french fries, tossed in a garlic herb sauce.

If you combine the Italian Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich and the Garlic Fries for a meal, you're going to get about 2000% of your recommended garlic intake. The garlic fries obviously have a lot of garlic. And so does the garlic knot bun on the sandwich. But guess what else also has garlic? EVERYTHING. The chicken is seasoned with garlic. So is the fried mozzarella. And the marinara sauce. The only thing on this meal that doesn't have garlic is the asiago cheese, but if you ask nicely, maybe the nice folks at Wendy's will add some for you.

So there you have it folks. If you want to destroy your breath with garlic, you don't have to go all the way to Italy. Just stop into your local Wendy's, but only while supplies last.
