Chick-fil-A Serves Up New Kale Crunch Side

It's just like the Superfood Side... but worse!

The Kale Crunch Side is a new item on the Chick-fil-A menu.

Tired of the same old, boring waffle fries? ME TOO! But don't worry fam, Chick-fil-A has you covered. Their latest side dish, the Kale Crunch Side, is now available nation-wide and can be added to any meal in place of waffle fries with no extra charge.

What is the Kale Crunch Side? I'm glad you asked. It's a side salad made with kale, green cabbage, roasted almonds and an apple cider and Dijon mustard vinaigrette.

If that all sounds familiar, it's because it kind of is. The Kale Crunch Side replaces the very similar "Superfood Side" that Chick-fil-A has been selling since 2016. The Superfood Side was made with kale broccolini, dried cherries, roasted nuts and a maple vinaigrette.

The Superfood Side from Chick-fil-A has been replaced with the Kale Crunch Side.

That means that Chick-fil-A basically replaced the broccolini and dried cherries with cabbage to create the Kale Crunch Side. Sweet.

This is a kale salad, so it probably comes as no surprise that calories per dollar are NOT very good. According to FastFoodNutrition.org, the Kale Crunch Side has 120 calories. That's 160 calories fewer than the the small waffle fries.

If you're looking for the most efficient caloric purchase, stick with the fries. But if you're trying to eat something a little healthier? Knock yourself out and give the Kale Crunch Salad a whirl.
